Safari
Chitwan National Park has recorded over 543 bird species — making it one of the richest birding destinations in all of Asia. Our specialist guides bring this extraordinary diversity to life.
From the giant hornbills and Bengal floricans of the grasslands to the kingfishers, herons, and ospreys of the Rapti riverbank — Chitwan offers birding across multiple distinct habitats, each with its own specialities.
Our birdwatching safaris run in the early morning when activity is highest — typically departing before sunrise for the first two hours of birdsong. We also offer evening walks when raptors are active and nightjars begin calling.
River birding from a dugout canoe on the Rapti is included in our birding packages — floating quietly past sand banks where Indian skimmers, storks, and egrets gather.
